TNBC exists to change how you see, not to tell you what to think. Its job is to rotate your gaze from the surface event to the structure beneath it — so headlines stop being confusing and events stop being surprising. It is a cognitive instrument, and its measure of success is perception: not being right about what happens next, but whether you now see the structure. The mission behind it: better understanding → better citizens → better society.
Start with the orientation sequence — Don't Be Alice — which shows why the world has stopped making sense and what a structural read looks like. Then the Signal Framework episode: the method itself. From there, Signals carry the current read twice a week, and the Explainer library covers every concept you'll meet along the way.
No — read the name as a coordinate, not a countdown. TNBC measures where the structure stands within the cycle: progressing, regressing, or holding. There is a real engine and it produces recurring patterns — but patterns persist, paths don't. Hayek identified a real mechanism in 1944 and predicted Britain's path; the mechanism fired, the prediction failed, because circuit breakers interrupted it. That is why TNBC's output is recognition, not prediction.
TNBC shares real ground with all three: history moves in long patterns, and societies under pressure behave in recognisable ways. The difference is where each terminates. Dalio acts, Howe anticipates, Turchin predicts — three flavours of being right about the future. TNBC recognizes: it makes the structure of the present visible and stops there. Different game, not a more cautious player of the same game.
Yes — one kind of claim, and it is falsifiable. TNBC authors the identification: this mechanism is present here. That is a real, contestable claim, kept honest by a standing rule that evidence cutting against the read is shown, not filtered. What TNBC declines is the extrapolation — therefore outcome Y by time Z. That conclusion is yours to draw.
Neither — and it is built so you can't tell. TNBC publishes structural observation, not opinion: incentives are examined, intent is not assumed; charts are shown as found, never recoloured; and when a case cuts against the read, it is shown. The pressures TNBC tracks run through governments of every colour. If you could tell how TNBC votes from an episode, the episode would have failed its own rules.
Because a face is an opinion. A real presenter carries involuntary signals — age, accent, dress — that sort a speaker into a tribe before a word lands. TNBC's commitment is that the structure speaks, not a persona, so the narrator is deliberately faceless. It is an enforcement mechanism for the opinion-free stance, not a production shortcut.
